The Background

The Charlotte Summer Theater is a new professional musical theater company which will perform at Dana Auditorium on the prestigious campus of Queens University of Charlotte in the heart of Historic Myers Park . This company is founded and owned by Tom and Jean Vance, who have successfully produced summer theater in Charlotte for over 31 years to a proven audience of over 24,000 people each year! Over those years their productions have received hundreds of awards and rave reviews.

 

The Season

The season will begin June 17, 2005 with the hit Broadway musical “ Disney's Beauty and the Beast . Charlotte Summer Theater is the first regional theater in the Charlotte area to be awarded the rights to this production. This Disney Classic will feature amazing magical effects and will appeal to a broad family audience.

The next production will be the foot-stomping high-kicking “ The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas ”, starring Deborah Rhodes. Ms. Rhodes is an awarding winning star with a huge following and fan base, her record for sell out performances is definitely impressive. This show is guaranteed to make you laugh, just remember the show is “A lot of good will, and maybe one small thrill, There is Nothing Dirty Going On”. This show is rated PG-13.

The final show of the season is the hit musical, “ Children of Eden ”, based on the story of Adam and Eve and the story of Noah's Ark. This show sold out the last time it was produced and directed by Tom Vance…people describe this show as “The Lion King” meets “The Bible”. This show will move and touch the hearts of the entire audience. Definitely a crowd pleaser!

These shows have the potential to be viewed by over 36,000 people.

 

The Opportunity

The Charlotte Summer Theater is currently seeking businesses interested in advertising. We are carefully interviewing each business to assure that they would appeal to the demographic of our theater patrons. This highly sought after demographic is throughout the region; however the large majority of them are from the South and Southeast Charlotte areas. These upper and middle class families are a prime demographic for most businesses seeking people with disposal incomes.

What We Can Provide

  • Opportunity to have a flyer or coupon stuffed in every envelope from patrons that send a self address stamped envelope requesting to mail their tickets to them. (est. 10,000) You provide the coupon/flyer. (All coupon/flyers must be pre-approved)
  • Opportunity to have a flyer or coupon stuffed in every ticket envelope which patrons at will call when picking up their tickets. (est. 20,000) You provide the coupon/flyer. (All coupon/flyers must be pre-approved)
  • Opportunity to have signage in the grand theater lobby which will be viewed by people who attend the show, as well as people who pick up tickets (possible max. 108,000 – Pre-show/Intermission/Post-show); you provide the sign (All signage must be pre-approved)
  • Acknowledgement in the theater program, which will be handed to every theater patron prior to the beginning of the show. Many patrons take this with them at the end of the evening as a souvenir. (possible max. 36,000)
  • Opportunity to have advertisements on our website. We will be heavily marketing the fact that you can purchase and select tickets online. (est. 24,000) You provide the banner ad; (ad design must be pre-approved.)
  • And the most important feature of our advertising sponsorship program…..you will be awarded the right to set up a small table/display featuring your business in the theater lobby, and you will be able to have a salesperson there, if desired. (possible max. 108,000 – Pre-show/Intermission/Post-show)
  • We will also grant exclusivity to guarantee that your competitors are completely shut out of marketing to these theater goers.
  • We are giving you the ability to get eleven (11) impressions per person!!!! With over 306,000 impressions!!!!

The Cost

The cost for becoming a Season Sponsor is $4,590 or (1.5 ¢ per impression).

Additional Options

  • We can place a coupon or advertisement on the back of every ticket stub. (possible 36,000 impressions) This option will cost $4,250.
  • We can also place an advertisement in the theater program for you. Ad rates upon request. You can either provide the design work or we can provide you a designer, at your cost to create an ad for you.

  • Opportunity to place your businesses name/logo above the title of the show in all advertising controlled by Charlotte Summer Theater. (i.e.… Charlotte Summer Theater, in association with (YOUR BUSINESS NAME) presents “Disney's Beauty and the Beast”) (estimated impressions 2,040,000 impressions)
  • Opportunity to place your business name/logo on signage/banners at the intersections of Selwyn Avenue and Radcliffe Avenue, and the intersections of Selwyn Avenue and Wellesley Avenue (entrance to Myers Park Traditional Elementary School) (est. 540,000 cars)
